This is the comparison to make first, and we put it first: the Kama Exchange is Ankama's own system, it is legal, it exposes you to no sanction, and if you can use it you should start there. This page exists to say honestly what it does, what it does not do, and where KamasTrade fits.
Kama Exchange
- Ankama’s official system: no risk of sanction, since the game itself runs it.
- An exchange between players, with ogrines as the intermediate currency, reachable from inside the game.
- A rate formed by supply and demand between players — a real market price.
- No third party to trust: neither an unknown seller nor a website.
KamasTrade
- You pay in euros directly, with no intermediate currency to buy first.
- The price per million is shown before any sign-up, server by server.
- Selling works in both directions: turning your kamas into euros is not what the Exchange does.
- Dofus Retro, Dofus Touch and Wakfu are covered by the same tracking rules.
When Kama Exchange is still the better choice
Almost always, if you can. It is official, legal and has no middleman. Its limits are practical, not moral: you have to buy ogrines with real money first, your account must already have made a real-money purchase — an anti-bot restriction Ankama introduced on 4 November 2024 — ogrines bought on the Exchange are bound to the account and cannot be resold, and the rate moves with supply. If those conditions suit you, go there.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Kama Exchange turn my kamas into real money?
No. It exchanges kamas for ogrines and back, between players. Ogrines acquired there are bound to the account: they are spent inside Ankama’s world, they do not turn back into euros. Selling kamas for euros means finding a buyer, which is what a marketplace does.
Does Ankama allow buying kamas elsewhere?
Ankama promotes the Kama Exchange as the official route and sanctions behaviour it considers contrary to its terms. It is for each player to read the game’s terms and decide knowingly. We do not claim to speak for Ankama, and a page telling you otherwise would deserve your suspicion.
Then why does a marketplace exist at all?
Because the Exchange assumes you buy ogrines with real money first, it does not buy your kamas back, and it does not answer the need of someone converting a stock built up in game. Two different uses, not two competitors on the same ground.
