KamasTrade

Help and safety

Everything worth understanding before your first transaction on KamasTrade: how an exchange unfolds, what the deposit covers, how reputation is built, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Important warning

Exchanging virtual currency for real money may breach the game publisher’s terms of use and expose your game account to a sanction. KamasTrade is an independent matchmaking platform with no connection to the games’ publishers. You act at your own risk.

How a transaction unfolds

A transaction on KamasTrade always follows the same six steps, in the same order, and each one is timestamped. Neither buyer nor seller can skip a step or go back.

  1. 1Request — the buyer picks a listing, a quantity and a payment method, then sends the request. The seller is notified.
  2. 2Acceptance — the seller accepts (or declines). Acceptance opens the private messaging and commits both parties.
  3. 3Payment — the buyer pays the seller by the agreed means, off the platform, then declares the payment with its reference.
  4. 4Confirmation — the seller checks the funds have arrived and confirms.
  5. 5Delivery — the seller hands the kamas over in game to the stated character, then declares the delivery.
  6. 6Closing — the buyer checks their kamas and closes. Both parties can then rate each other.

Seller deposits and secured offers

KamasTrade never holds your money: payment goes directly between buyer and seller. That choice avoids frozen accounts and intermediary fees, but it moves the question of trust elsewhere — which is what the deposit is for.

A seller can lock a sum on their account. Every listing of theirs whose amount is covered by that deposit shows a “Secured” badge. If that seller fails to deliver and moderation rules against them, the buyer is refunded from the deposit, up to the amount put up.

An offer without a deposit is not necessarily risky — many excellent sellers have none — but public reputation is then your only guarantee.

How reputation is calculated

Every statistic shown on a profile is computed from transactions actually carried out on the platform. Nothing is self-declared, nothing can be edited by the member.

  1. 1Rating out of 5 — the average of reviews received. A review can only be left after a transaction is closed, once per transaction and per person.
  2. 2Number of sales / purchases — transactions actually taken through to closing.
  3. 3Completion rate — the share of started transactions that finish, against those declined, cancelled or disputed.
  4. 4Average delivery time — the time elapsed between the opening and the closing of sales.
  5. 5Response time — the delay the seller states on their listing. Sellers who do not keep to it lose visibility.

What to do if something goes wrong

Always start with the transaction’s private messaging: the vast majority of problems are misunderstandings about timing or the delivery server.

If talking it through fails, open a dispute from the transaction page. You have 7 days after closing to do so. A moderator then receives the entire history — messages, timestamps, payment references — and decides.

Depending on the decision, the transaction is either cancelled in the buyer’s favour (with a refund from the seller’s deposit if there is one), or upheld in the seller’s favour, or the dispute is dismissed if it is unfounded.

Good practice

  1. 1Stay on the internal messaging: it alone counts as evidence in a dispute. An agreement made on Discord cannot be relied on.
  2. 2Never declare a step you have not actually carried out.
  3. 3Check the exact name of your character and the server before confirming the request.
  4. 4Be wary of abnormally low prices: compare with the rest of the page.
  5. 5Keep your proof of payment (screenshot, transaction reference) until closing.

Having second thoughts before starting a transaction?

Look at the member’s profile: their rating, number of transactions, completion rate and recent reviews. Then write to them through the transaction request — a serious seller answers within the time they state.
