Dofus, Dofus Unity, Retro, Touch: do not buy the wrong kamas

It is the costliest mistake and the easiest to make: buying kamas for the wrong game. They cannot be transferred, and nobody will take them back.

Four games, four separate currencies

Dofus, Dofus Retro, Dofus Touch and Wakfu all use a currency called kamas. They are nonetheless four sealed economies: Dofus kamas are worthless on Dofus Retro, and the other way round.

The separation holds between servers of the same game too. Kamas bought on one server cannot be moved to another, other than through a trade between players — which is possible, but that is no longer a purchase.

  • Dofus — the main version, the one with the most servers.
  • Dofus Retro — the legacy version, with distinct servers and economy.
  • Dofus Touch — the mobile version, with its own servers.
  • Wakfu — another Ankama game, with kamas of its own.

“Dofus Unity”, “Dofus 3”: what are we talking about?

Those names refer to the same game as Dofus, after its client moved to the Unity engine. It is not a new game, they are not new servers, and they are not different kamas: if you play Dofus, Dofus kamas are what you need.

The confusion comes from sellers who list under several names to be found. Trust the server, never the brand name: the server is what determines where your kamas land.

Check before paying

Before any transaction, two pieces of information are enough: the game and the server. The character name comes next, but it is useless if the server is wrong.

On KamasTrade, every listing carries its game and its server, and every server has its page. If you do not know which server you play on, it is shown on the character selection screen.

Frequently asked questions

Do Dofus kamas work on Dofus Retro?

No. They are two separate games with separate economies; no transfer is possible in either direction.

Is Dofus Unity a different game?

No, it is Dofus after its client moved to the Unity engine. Same servers, same kamas, same account.

Can kamas be transferred from one server to another?

Not directly. A trade between players does allow it, though: someone hands you kamas on the server you want in exchange for yours on your current server. That is what the site’s trade pages are for, with no money involved.
