Ogrines and kamas: the exchange rate explained
2 min read
Ogrines are the currency Ankama sells for real money. In Dofus, they are traded for kamas between players, at a rate that varies by server and over time. Read correctly, that rate gives a price per million you can compare with listings.

Prices seen right now, server by server
The lowest price shown by a seller who is online, for one million kamas. These figures come from the site’s listings and change through the day.
How the ogrine exchange works
Ogrines are bought from Ankama’s shop and pay for subscriptions, cosmetic items or services. In Dofus, an official market lets you sell them to other players for kamas, or buy them with your kamas.
Ankama does not set the rate: it comes from players’ offers, server by server. It moves with demand — an update, a shop promotion or an influx of new players shifts it within days. Today’s rate is read in game, on the market itself.
It is the only way to turn real money into kamas that Ankama’s rules allow. Exchanging kamas for money between players is forbidden by their terms of use.
Turning the rate into a price per million
To compare, bring both routes back to the same unit: the price of one million kamas in euros.
- Note in game how many kamas one ogrine fetches on your server.
- Divide one million by that number: you get the number of ogrines needed for one million kamas.
- Multiply by the price of one ogrine in the pack you buy (pack price ÷ number of ogrines it contains).
- Compare the result with the price per million shown in this page’s table for the same server.
Why the two prices never quite meet
Larger ogrine packs are better value, and shop promotions change the maths. The in-game rate varies from server to server: a recent server where kamas are scarce gives fewer kamas per ogrine.
The price between players follows its own logic — payment method, quantity, seller reputation. The two markets influence each other without ever merging; redoing the calculation on the day you buy is the only way to know which is cheaper for you.
Frequently asked questions
What is today’s ogrines to kamas rate?
It depends on the server and changes constantly: it is read in game, on the ogrine market. We do not show it here so as not to give you an outdated number; the method above turns it into a price per million.
Is it better to buy ogrines or kamas?
Ogrines are the route Ankama allows, with no risk of sanction. Buying between players is often cheaper but forbidden by the terms of use. Compare both prices per million, then decide knowingly.
Can you sell ogrines for kamas?
Yes, in Dofus, on the official ogrine market, at the rate other players on your server offer. For Ankama’s other games, check in game: the mechanics are not identical.
