Wakfu kamas: how to earn them, buy them or sell them between players

On Wakfu, almost all kamas circulate between players: they drop from monsters, then change hands on the marketplace, driven by professions. Earning kamas is mostly about producing and selling well. And if you buy or sell them, one rule: the right game and the right server, because Wakfu kamas have nothing to do with Dofus kamas.

Wakfu, a separate game and currency
Wakfu is another Ankama MMORPG, set in the same universe as Dofus, centuries later. Its currency is also called the kama, but the economy is completely separate: Dofus, Dofus Retro or Dofus Touch kamas are worthless on Wakfu.
On a given server, kamas are shared by all your characters: no need to move them from one to another. They do stay locked to that server, though.

Wakfu servers
Wakfu has three servers, each with its own economy. Your server changes item prices, farming pace and the value of a million kamas.

Tip : Temporary neo-servers opened at the end of 2025, planned to join the official servers afterwards. If you played on one, check in game which server your character is on today before any trade.
Where Wakfu kamas come from
Kamas enter the game through only a few doors: fights against monsters, some quests and feats, and chests hidden around the world. Kama presses, which turned ores into kamas, have been disabled since late 2023.
They leave through other doors: the marketplace tax, which goes to the nation’s treasury and never returns to players, building in Havens-Worlds and various small fees. The rest circulates between players. That is why the marketplace is the real heart of the economy.
- In combat, no kamas drop if the level gap with the monsters is too large.
- Ending a fight KO reduces the kamas you earn.
- Most of your kamas will come from sales, not from fights.
The Wakfu marketplace
Marketplaces are found in Astrub, in the four nations (Amakna, Bonta, Brakmar, Sufokia), in Srambad, in Kelba and in Havens-Worlds. They form a single network: a listing posted in one is visible from all the others.
You can sell there, but also post a buy order: you set the price you are willing to pay, and a seller can come and fill it. The interface shows each item’s average price, based on past sales: a good benchmark before setting yours.

Tip : A direct trade with another player avoids the marketplace tax. For a large sale to a buyer you know, that can be worth it.
Professions, the engine of the economy
Wakfu has six gathering professions and eight crafting professions. Monsters and gathering supply the resources, crafters transform them, and everything crafted, recycled or enchanted eventually leaves the economy. That constant consumption keeps the market alive.
Since update 1.79, profession progress is tied to the account: a profession levelled on one character benefits your other characters on that account.

Earning kamas on Wakfu
The safest method is simple: produce what other players consume, then sell it at the right price.

- 3Level a crafting profession once you have some capital, to sell items rather than raw resources.
