Dofus treasure hunts: how to complete them quickly
6 min read
A treasure hunt is a chain of clues to find on the map, starting from a given position and direction. At the end, a fight against the treasure unlocks a chest. Since update 3.4 in December 2025, the classic hunt is a daily quest that mainly rewards experience and Kamatons: Sand Roses and kamas are no longer part of the rewards. With a bit of method, a hunt takes just a few minutes.

Where to start a treasure hunt
Everything begins at the Treasure Chest (Malle aux Trésors), a building in the Cania Fields spread over two maps, at [-25,-36] and [-24,-36]. You can get there through the Cania Fields zaap, or drink a Treasure Hunter potion that teleports you straight there.
Inside, talk to Dhain to start the daily hunt, open from level 20. It can be done once a day, and a new hunt is offered the following day from 7 a.m. The building also hosts legendary hunts and the desk where their maps are crafted. The route is randomly generated each time.
Tip : Keep a Treasure Hunter potion in your inventory: it takes you back to the building in one click instead of crossing the map.
How a hunt works
The hunt window gives you a starting position, a direction (an arrow) and the name of a clue. Walk in that direction until you find the described element, then place a flag (the small marker next to the clue) to reveal the next one.
- 1Go to the starting position shown.
- 2Move in the direction of the arrow, map by map, looking for the described element.
- 3Once you find the clue, click the flag: the next clue appears with a new direction.
- 4When every clue of the step is flagged, validate your position.
- 5Repeat for each step until the final fight.
Watch out : The right clue is always the first matching element you come across in the given direction, at most 10 maps away. A flag placed on the wrong element sends you down a false trail.
Reading clues without mistakes
Scenery clues are objects in the landscape: a statue, a tool, a barrel, bones… Some names are deliberately vague: a “tool” could be a shovel, a rake or a pitchfork. Look carefully at every map, edges included.
If you validate while a mistake is hiding in the step, you lose an attempt, but the correct flags stay validated: you only need to pick up again from the last right clue.
- Do not rely on the name alone: compare it with the shape of the object on the map.
- Count the maps you cross: past 10, you have missed it.
- Cable cars, stairs and underground passages can throw off your count: watch out for level changes.
The Phorreur, the clue that catches everyone out
Some clues are not objects but creatures: the Phorreurs. Their name includes a qualifier, such as “sneaky Phorreur”. Unlike scenery elements, which always sit in the same place, their position is not fixed: you cannot locate them in advance.
Only the character running the hunt can see it. It is also the clue that hunt-solving tools cannot locate: you have to find it yourself, then continue the hunt from its position.
Tip : Turn on character transparency in the options: the Phorreur stands out much better among other players. Move forward map by map, without doubling back.
Attempts and the final fight
You get 4 attempts per hunt: each failed validation costs one, and the fourth failure loses the hunt. Remaining attempts also count during the final fight, so check your flags before validating.
Once every clue is found, a fight against the treasure awaits. It is invulnerable and summons four Vigicoffres, also invulnerable: only the one walking on four legs must be hit, and it can change place after each blow. Friends or a companion can join in, but the fight is easier solo: keep the cells around you free and avoid area spells.
| Fight element | What to know |
|---|---|
| Treasure | Invulnerable, 5 to 10 health points depending on level (5 from 20 to 59, 10 from 180 to 200). |
| Vigicoffres | Four summons; only the chest on legs counts, and it can move. |
| Right hit | The treasure loses 1 health point. |
| Wrong hit | You take damage; on the third miss, you are knocked out and lose an attempt. |
What treasure hunts reward
The daily hunt rewards experience and a daily chest, which you must open to complete the quest. It holds 1 Kamaton and 1 or 2 transformation consumables, such as mimic pots or snouffle powder.
Since update 3.4 in December 2025, Sand Roses and kamas are no longer part of classic hunt rewards. As for legendary hunt map fragments, they do not come from chests: they drop, rarely, from monsters in the matching zone.
- Kamatons are traded with Mollie, inside the Treasure Chest building, for cosmetic items.
- Legendary hunts require a map crafted from fragments and end with a fight against the wanted monster itself. They reward Avitons, experience, kamas and a set resource, and connect with wanted notices.
- Portal hunts lead to the entrance of a divine dimension: completed once per character, they unlock permanent access to it.
Tips to save time
Seasoned hunters mostly save time on travel. An autopilot mount and the /travel command take you to coordinates without clicking on every map.
The daily hunt pairs well with the daily Almanax, especially when its bonus applies to hunts. Four Almanax days, tied to the Merydes Güss, Scheik, Sad and Milivar, also offer a special hunt.
Classic hunts no longer pay kamas: to earn kamas, turn to legendary hunts or other activities instead. If your level limits which legendary maps you can use, powerleveling opens the high-level ones faster.
