Dofus wanted notices: track down outlaws and collect the bounty

5 min read

A wanted notice is a small bounty-hunting quest: you accept a criminal’s poster, find them in their zone, defeat them and hand them over to the militia. In return, you get tokens to spend with merchants, and each capture moves achievements forward that pay experience and kamas.

How wanted notices work

All over the World of Twelve, criminals hide in specific zones: bandits, pirates, deserters, dangerous creatures… Each one has a poster, and capturing each is a quest of its own.

The wanted monster lives in its zone among the other monsters. It is not always there: once defeated, it disappears for several hours before coming back. It is an ideal activity to fit between quest sessions, like the Almanax or treasure hunts.

Where to pick up wanted notices

Posters are found at militias and wanted notice boards around the world. Each militia lists the criminals of its region. You will find them in zones such as:

  • Astrub and Amakna Castle, for the early levels;
  • the Justiciars’ Base, Sufokia and Saharach;
  • Bonta and Brâkmar, with targets tied to alignment;
  • Frigost, with several militias across the island, up to the entrance of Count Harebourg’s castle;
  • the divine dimensions (Enutrosor, Srambad, Xelorium, Ecaflipus, Osavora), where boards stand in the travellers’ outposts.

Tip : Each notice shows a recommended level. Start with those in your range: a target that is too strong costs you lost fights and hours of waiting.

Capturing a wanted monster, step by step

The routine is the same for almost every notice:

  1. 1Go to the militia or the board, and pick the option to start hunting the criminal on the poster you want.
  2. 2Head to the zone shown and look for it among the monster groups.
  3. 3Start the fight against it, solo or in a group, and defeat it.
  4. 4Once beaten, it becomes your follower: you take it with you.
  5. 5Go to the delivery point shown (a militia, a sheriff’s office, a prison room…) and deliver it: the follower leaves you, the quest ends and the reward drops.

Watch out : If nobody in the group has the notice quest active, no player gets the wanted monster: it simply reappears in its zone. Always start the quest before the fight.

Finding a target that will not show up

The longest part is often finding it. The target may already have been killed by another player, or it may be in a corner of the zone you have not searched yet.

The prison guard can help: for 500 kamas, he tells you whether the target is present in his zone, as long as you have its notice quest active. That saves you hours circling an empty zone.

  • Sweep the zone map by map, methodically.
  • If the zone is empty, move on to another notice and come back later.
  • Play at off-peak hours: fewer hunters, better odds of finding it.

Preparing the fight

A wanted monster is not like other monsters. Many have special protections: conditional invulnerability, invulnerability at range, reduced damage from weapons, ranged spells or melee attacks. Clicking on it before attacking shows its characteristics: take a minute to read them.

Some targets also grow weaker when other monsters accompany them: their vitality and power drop for each ally present in the fight. A wanted monster on its own is therefore often tougher than one surrounded by its group.

Tip : Build your team around its protections: if it resists melee, favour ranged attacks, and the other way round. A well-chosen companion can fill the gaps in your character.

Wanted notice rewards

Delivering a target earns tokens. Their type depends on the notice’s zone, and the amount grows with the criminal’s level.

  • Capture achievements reward experience, kamas and a title.
  • Legendary treasure hunts also let you face some wanted monsters, with a very rich chest at the end.
  • Before spending rare tokens, compare item values at the marketplace: some resell well.

Our tips to chain bounties

Take several notices from the same region at once: you hunt them in one go and make a single trip back to the militia. Frigost targets require a solid level; our Frigost dungeons guide helps place the island in your progression.

If a target is still out of reach for your level, it is better to gain a few levels before coming back. Powerleveling saves time on that step, and kamas help you gear up against its protections.
